The Ocean Day...

Dylan said today we played mystery trash and the quiet game, and we got to watch a video on the SMARTboard about oceans and creatures that live in the ocean.  Today was a great day!
Garett said today we learned about oceans and tide pools and animals that live in tide pools.
Phillip said that today it was raining outside, so we had indoor recess.  We had to line up at the door.  We had morning meeting.
Price said we learned about bar graphs in math and we had S.S.R. this afternoon.  We read some ocean books and he read The Magic School Bus.
Emilio said we got new yellow math folders.
Madison said we had a good day at lunch and opening.  We also had a good day at indoor and outdoor recess.  We had a good day today.
Osker said we read about oceans during S.S.R.

The Book Fair Day...

Anusha said today the red group had the book fair and there was chapter books on one side and picture books on the other side.
Dylan said today we played mystery trash and the quiet game and Mrs. Pittman is going to announce the winners when we are finished with the blog.  Also, tomorrow is our last day to work on our resesarch and he had fun today.
Sarah said today was a cool day!
Emilio said today the book fair was open and we had to have Opening in our classroom.  He had P.E. today.
Madison said today we had a great day at Opening in our classroom and we had a good day at lunch.  Red group had fun at the book fair.
Alex said today during Opening in the classroom we had to look at the flag in the classroom.  Opening was short. He has his first basketball practice today.

Researching Jobs...

Madison said today Henry lost his eraser and she found it!
Alex said today we played Mystery Trash and the Quiet Game. Mrs Pittman is going to tell us who the winners are after the blog.
Price said it was cold today and we had a great day in second grade.  We read books about jobs and learned about wants and needs.
Dylan said we were looking at books about jobs and tomorrow we're going to pick our book to write a research paper on.
Mya said we had a good day in opening and at lunch.
Garett said today we had 3rd grade math buddies.  Some of our class went to their class, and some of their class came to our class.
Bryce said in Mrs. Pittman's reading group we read Little Red Riding Hood  and then we made a mini book about Little Red Riding Hood.  In Ms. Wyckoff's room we played Sink or Swim.  We had a good day at recess.  It was a splendid day!
Osker said today we went to the gym and watched a play called "Oklahoma Interactive!"  There were four characters.
Bayden said today we got to play in the grass and we didn't know if we would be able to because it rained last night.
Sarah said today we had an awesome day!
Phillip said today some people finished Little Red Riding Hood  and some people didn't.  We practiced spelling words by clapping high, low, or in the middle.  We had a good, good day!

Madison said we learned about North, South, East and West.  Maci said her sister taught her "Never Eat Sour Watermelon". Madison learned it "Never Eat Soggy Waffles".

Landform day...

Price said we made landform maps out of clay and put it on a plate.  We had a great day in second grade!
Osker said today is the 40th day of second grade!
Maci said today it was cold outside!
Bayden said today in our math game notebooks we did how many ways we could think of to make 40.
Emilio said we had a great day at opening and it was picture day today!
Alex said today on our landform maps we had to choose 5 of the 11 landforms.  His favorite landform that he made was the volcano.
Anusha said today was a good day!
Dylan said we learned a new greeting called the marble greeting.  We got to go around with the marble and the third person that we greeted, we gave them the marble.
James said we had a good day at lunch.  We learned about Mrs. Dickey today at opening.
Sarah said we had a cool day!
Garett said today we played mystery trash and Bryce won and he got an orange pencil!
Mya said today in music we got to sing a song.  It was a Halloween song called "Pick a Pumpkin from the Pile".

The Flashlight Day...

Dylan said today we had our spelling test and we played mystery trash and quiet game.  Alex won mystery trash and Anusha won the quiet game.  Today was a great day.
Ashlynn said today was her last day as Star of the Week and she shared her harmonica and a picture of a baby who is a missionary kid in Kenya.
Garett said today we went to reading groups.
Anusha said she got a green pencil for winning quiet game.  Alex got an orange pencil.
Emilio said today was flashlight Friday and we had a great day at Opening.
Bayden said today they put up the basketball goals on the South Playground.
Price said today we had math, and finished math after recess.  We had library checkout.
Garrick said today was a great day, and we had a great day at lunch.
James said we sang "You're a Grand Ol' Flag" at Opening.
Madison said today at Opening the Pre-K children came.
Alex said today he picked the orange pencil because it's Cowboy colors.  Him, Emilio, and Krishna went with Mrs. Hough.  Mrs. Hough taught us something new P.I.E.
Sarah said today we went to reading groups and she won a tootsie roll.
Mya said she went to Mrs. Wilkinson's class for reading groups and they played a game with 2 teams.  They had to write things down fast for a tootsie roll.

The Best Day of Second Grade!

Garett said today we selected star of the week and it was him!
Bryce said today we had a good day at opening. We played mystery trash and the quiet game. James won the quiet game and Bryce won mystery trash.
Anusha said we aren't doing star of the week next week because we have an early release day and fall break, so we'll have a star of the week the week after next.
Price said today we did our Me on the Map books.  We learned about the equator and the two hemispheres.  Today was a great day!
Alex said today at Opening 5th grade was at BizTown so Mrs. Ehrlich had to do all of the stuff.  The person that did "know your teacher" was Mrs. Pittman.
Osker said we put marbles in a jar today.
Garrick said today was a great day!
Phillip said today we had fun at lunch and we had recess. 
Dylan said we put ten marbles in a jar. Only 2 are left.  If we still have some left tomorrow, we'll get an extra recess.

Mahiya said today she won the quiet game.  Today was a fun day and the blue group had music.
Alex said today after reading groups our math buddies came and we played "Counters in a Bag".
Dylan said we played mystery trash today and Griffyn won, and it was a bin of scissors.  The prize was a pencil!
Osker said he, Emilio, and James went to Mrs. Bair, and the firefighters came.  Ashlynn shared legos.
Price said today he made a book called The Art Book.  It was a fun day of school.  It was the best day of school.  We also read Turtle's Race with Beaver.
Garett said we went to a Fire Prevention Assembly in the gym, and we played a game and it was a tie between the boys and the girls.
Mya said we got math buddies today.  Someone's buddy wasn't here so she was with that person's buddy.
James said we got to look at the fire truck, and we had a good day at opening and lunch.

Today was the best day ever...

Price said we played a new math game and we did our Me on the Map Book, and we wrote a book.  Yesterday was Alex's birthday.
Dylan said instead of Mystery Trash we played the quiet game and Taylor won.
Garrick said today was a great day!
Alex said yesterday he got to pick two people to help him with the snack he brought and he picked Bayden and Henry.
Anusha said today was a really good day.  We had a reading benchmark test, and we played a fun game.  She made a book about ocelots.
Osker said we learned about all the countries that make up North America and learned about the continents.
Madison said today was our last day to finish our Specialist Books.
Bayden said today we finished the second part of The Tale of Despereaux.

Good Bye Mrs. Beers

Alex said today Mrs. Beers is leaving because she is going to the middle school and she is graduating in December. Mr. Blake announced whoever earns $75 will be entered for a drawing for an iPad 2.
Garett said today at 3:00 we had Mrs. Beers' going away party and we got cookies and smarties.
Dylan said today we had walk-a-thon and we got t shirts and today was a great day.
Price said today we had Mrs. Beers' party and walk-a-thon and we made another tropical fish.
Mahiya said we had a party for Mrs. Beers and I gave her a lot of presents and she gave all of us a card. At walk-a-thon I picked a song and it was by Selena Gomez.
Madison said today at walk-a-thon we got to pick a song and I picked Dynamite. We had a good day at lunch and Mrs. Beers is going bye bye and I'm going to miss her very much.
Emilio said at the walk-a-thon we got water bottles and popsicles and we had a great day at opening.
Bryce said we had a great day at opening and recess and lunch.
Anusha said today instead of me doing fish for square-1 art, I did a dolphin.
Mya said today Mrs. Beers is leaving and it's her last day and we got t shirts and she gave us all a card.
Phillip said today Mrs. Beers is leaving and we had to do our spelling test and it was really fun!  I'm going to miss Mrs. Beers.
Griffyn said Mrs. Beers is leaving and we're very sad about that and Bryce poured water on me at walk-a-thon.

The Day of Our Field Trip

Phillip said we got to go on a very fun field trip and we got to go on a bus but we had to pay 25 cents.
Madison said today we went to Bayden's dad's office.
James said we went to my mom and dad's office today.
Price said we went on our field trip and we went to Henry's dad's college and we got to see sculptures.
Alex said when we went to Dr. Reese's office, he showed us where X-rays were and we got to feel some vibration things.
Emilio said we got to go to different places in our community.
Osker said we learned what a chiropractor does and we got to see X-rays.
Bayden said today when we went to Henry's dad's office, my uncle's artwork was there.
Griffyn said Bayden's dad showed us stuff about the spine.
Maci said we went ate lunch at Theta Pond.
Sarah said we went to Henry's dad's art show and we went to the haunted floor.

Second Grade is Awesome!

Alex said today we finished our artwork and we had to make our art work balanced with tropical fish. Alex also said that his mobile is not balanced today.

Bryce said we all got to tell what animal we would like to be if were an animal.

Dylan said we were using our equal arm balance to figure out which canister had 6 marbles in it and it was the blue one.
James said we had a good day at opening and we had a good day in math.

Anusha said we all went to different second grade classrooms and some of us stayed in our classroom to learn about math.
Taylor said today was our last day of balancing and weighing in science and it was really hard and fun.

Alex said today was our last day to finish our mobiles and we have a new star of the week.

Mahiya said we did near doubles in math and it was really fun and the weather is really nice outside.

Best Balancing

Taylor said today we did our first tornado drill and we sat under desks.
Anusha said we watched a small show on the smartboard about balancing
Dylan said we figured out how to balance different weight by moving the fulcrum
Mya said we got to do three kinds of ways for balancing. One, 15 on one side and one on the other.
Maci said we talked about our science project for tomorrow.
Bryce said we did math, we did doubles.
Emilio said we had reading buddies today.
Ashlynn said we did things with the fulcrum in science.
Osker said we balanced our beams on the same sides by using different weight on the same side.
Bayden said we had fun today!
Alex said we gave our book to our reading buddies today.

The Twelfth day of school

Mahiya said she got smarter today and we did lots and lots of math.

Taylor said today is the last day that we are going to experience magnets. Also today was fun.
Garret said we tried to lift a paper clip off the ground without letting the paperclip touch the magnet.
Mahiya said we got to tie the string to the paper clip. It was awesome today, we did math!

Our First Day of Second Grade...

Alex said we used cubes in math.
Phillip said we made a number book.
Mya said we did math.
Mahiya said she feels like she's gotten smarter and we did math!
Bayden said we made a book.
Dylan said we got to play a new game called Octopus.
Taylor said we got to decorate our Thursday folders.
Price said we had morning meeting and we read Gooseberry Park.
Emilio said we had snack.
Ashlynn said we made new friends.
Garett said we had fun!
Maci said we made a book called Book of Ten.
Mrs. Beers said we were all really nice to eachother today!
Mrs. Pittman said she's so excited for a new year of fun!
